The University of Bologna will hold an online meeting on 13th November 2024, from 15:00 to 16:30 (CEST), within the activities of the COSME project, entitled "Lo sport come strumento per l'inclusione sociale dei rifugiati. Una riflessione multidisciplinare a partir dai "corridoi universitari sportivi" (Italian language).

The event aims to understand the national and European challenges regarding the integration and inclusion of refugees in relation to complementary education pathways and the underestimated role and benefits of sport within host communities, including universities.

Drawing on six years of experience with the University Corridors for Refugees (UNICORE project) and the Mediterranean project, in collaboration with UNHCR Italy, the event will also serve to reflect on the opportunities and challenges of the so-called University Sport Corridors for Refugees, which promote the power of sport as an effective tool for protection through the expansion of educational pathways and community sponsorship schemes.

Public and private stakeholders, University Sports Centres, students and refugee students who are also beneficiaries of higher education pathways will be involved so that their experiences can contribute to raising awareness and promoting the issue and the national research envisaged by the project.
